After some great days in the desert, we unfortunately got sick. Dee first felt ill after a long cycle but then was good the next day and managed 100km. We were to camp at the next Cafeteria but it turned out to be a massive junction full of people and not somewhere you want to stay for an hour much less say the night. We cycled back into the hot desert to camp. A very kind family took us in and offered us a free room to stay and food. We cannot thank them enough for their kindness. However we ended up having to stay with them for a few days as the sickness continued. It continued the whole way through Sudan until antibiotics in Khartoum got us back on track.
